ERAP, GMA BACK BBM-SARA UNITEAM IN 2022

Press Releases
25 November 2021

The political parties of two former Philippine presidents have endorsed the BBM-SARA Uniteam of presidential aspirant Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos, Jr. and vice-presidential aspirant Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as their official bets in the upcoming 2022 elections.

The Lakas-CMD party of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) of former president Joseph Estrada forged an alliance with Marcos' Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and Inday Sara's Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HnP) yesterday.

This development further strengthens the position of the BBM-SARA Uniteam as the tandem to beat in the upcoming polls.

The unqualified backing of former presidents Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo also bolsters the unifying leadership espoused by Marcos and Duterte. Both are already in the process of fortifying support in their respective bailiwicks known as the "Solid North" and "Solid South."

The alliance also paves the way to secure a formidable political bloc that has helped Macapagal-Arroyo, Estrada, and former president Fidel Ramos achieve political victory in previous presidential elections.

"We have come together on the basis of unity. And it is this unifying forces that I believe will bring the stability back first to the political arena, and secondly, to the country," Marcos said.

Duterte, on the other hand, expressed hope that more political parties would join the BBM-SARA Uniteam as she urged the supporters of the newly-formed alliance to approach other groups in the runup to the 2022 elections.

“We have come together on the basis of unity. And it is this unifying forces that I believe will bring the stability back first to the political arena, and secondly, to the country,” ayon kay Bongbong.
