Daily Tribune : Bongbong, Sara help typhoon-hit communities

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, on Monday dispensed a total of 15 million in financial assistance and P23.3 million worth of relief items to the victims of super typhoon “Odette.”

Accompanied by House Majority Leader and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez, the tandem reached eight provinces and delivered construction materials and bags of rice.

Marcos first flew to Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte to distribute food packs, then traveled to Roxas City, Capiz to hand over P2 million cash to Governor Esteban Evan Contreras at the provincial Capitol for typhoon victims.

Balud, Masbate Mayor Ruben Jude “RJ” Lim also received P1 million cash assistance from Marcos and Romualdez aside from relief items for the residents staying at the Masbate Airport.

Duterte-Carpio joined Marcos and Romualdez at the Bacolod Silay Airport in Negros Occidental, their fourth stop on another four-province swing also in the Visayas and Mindanao, and delivered to Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer P2 million in cash aid.

They also provided aid to local officials of Southern Leyte, Butuan City, Bohol, and Cebu.
