Bongbong takes a big gulp in 7-11 presidential survey

22 March 2022

MORE and more Pinoys are drinking up to show their support for the candidacy of presidential frontrunner Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. as he tops 7-Eleven's SpeakCUP presidential survey's latest tally.

The survey, "all done in the spirit of fun," the convenience store chain 7-Eleven's disclaimer read, allows customers to 'vote' for their preferred presidential candidate by buying a 22 oz or 12 oz soda drink that has the image and name of their favored candidate.

The latest running tally posted on March 20, 2022, on the company's website, showed UniTeam presidential bet Marcos garnering 44% votes, followed by Leni Robredo at a distant second with 27%.

Behind them are undecided voters in the third spot with 15%, followed by Isko Moreno with 7%, while Sen. Pacquiao and Sen. Lacson are in fifth place with 4% apiece.

The SpeakCUP survey results also showed Marcos miles ahead of the other presidential contenders in major island groups such as Metro Manila, where he got 40% of the votes, 49% in Northern Luzon, 41% in South Luzon, 42% in the Visayas, and 53% in Mindanao.

Patrons have five cup designs to choose from: Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Ping Lacson, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Leni Robredo, and a cup designated for "undecided" voters.

This year's presidential survey would be the third time the company has done it, starting in 2010 and the last, 2016 national elections.

7-Eleven added that the "unofficial" pre-election survey would run from March 09 to April 27, 2022.

Marcos and his running-mate, vice-presidential bet Inday Sara Duterte, have consistently dominated their respective rivals even in scientific pre-election surveys done by polling firms such as Laylo Research, Pulse Asia, SWS, and PUBLiCUS Asia.

Political pundits have noted that the UniTeam's message of unity resonates with the people clamoring for leadership that will steer the country towards recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

They added that the continued excellent showing of the UniTeam bets in formal and informal surveys indicates that the Filipino electorate has already decided to vote the duo as a tandem in the upcoming 2022 polls.

FILIPINO VERSION

Pacquiao at Sen.
