27 April 2016

Vice Presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. has expressed his support for the influential Durano family of Cebu saying their years of service have made their province one of the most progressive in the country.

Marcos said he has always kept close ties with the Duranos since he was young. The patriarch Ramon Durano has been a close ally of the Marcos family and the friendship has remained until the present. “The Duranos have always been allies and good friends and for that they have my support for the coming elections,” he said.

The Duranos led by Cebu Rep. Ace Durano, Danao City Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III, Danao City Vice Mayor Ramon ‘Red” Durano IV, Provincial Board Members Jude Thaddeus Durano and Miguel Antonio Magpale are seeking reelections.

During his Unity four-day Unity Caravan in the vote-rich province last month, Marcos was welcomed by Nito Durano and Red Durano.

Marcos had expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received from the Duranos during his visit saying their friendship goes beyond politics. “I am thankful for the very cordial welcome and as I have always been saying, our friendship goes beyond politics which is the reason why they will always have my support,” Marcos expressed.
