Bongbong Marcos Pledges Support in Half-Way House Project

22 January 2010

Ilocos Norte representative and senatorial candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. pledged support in setting up a half-way house for the relatives of the inmates in the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

Relatives of the inmates outside of Metro Manila can stay overnight in the half-way house, a brainchild of the KAKUSA party-list.

“This will make life easier for the relatives of the inmates,” said Marcos.

Marcos mingled and had lunch with inmates at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City during his visit there on Wednesday.

He donated P50,000 for the livelihood program of the inmates, 50 sacks of rice, 200 t-shirts and 20 basketballs.

The youthful solon also vowed to support every effort to improve the living condition of the inmates.

“Everybody deserves a second chance. They (inmates) are still human beings and need to be treated as such while serving their sentences,” said Marcos.
