Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr expressed his deepest condolences for the passing of multi-talented TV personality, German “Kuya Germs” Moreno who succumbed to cardiac arrest at 82 on Friday (Jan.8, 2016).
“My family and I are deeply are saddened by the passing of a true icon, German Moreno or Kuya Germs. He is a big loss to the movie industry which he helped build and shape through his countless movies, television shows and the numerous talents he nurtured every step of the way,” the senator said.
Marcos also paid tribute for the TV host’s big contribution to the showbiz industry.
“Kuya Germs was a Father to many aspiring Actors and Actresses whom he transformed into Big Stars,” Marcos said.
“He is especially loved because he championed the many causes related to the movie industry including rallying for better pay and treatment for those working behind the scenes,” the senator added.
Marcos also recognised how Moreno remained a “loyal” supporter despite the political challenges that were faced by the Marcos family.
“For my family, Kuya Germs had been and will always be a true friend whose support never wavered despite all the challenges. We very much appreciate how he stuck with us through thick and thin and was proud of it,” the senator said, adding that Kuya Germs was “truly, a great man with a big heart and with conviction.”
