Press Releases
30 December 2021

UniTeam presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and his running mate vice presidential aspirant Inday Sara Duterte on Thursday continued with their mission of bringing hope and extending assistance to the victims of Typhoon Odette, as they visited Dinagat Islands, Palawan, Liloan and Lapu-Lapu City just before the year ends.

The UniTeam tandem first went to Dinagat Islands where they were welcomed by Lone District Congressman Alan Ecleo together with his officials.

The typhoon-hit island received 2,500 sacks of rice, more than thousands of slippers and 10 sets of bucket water filter that can provide clean water to the affected communities.

A P1-M financial aid for the constituents of Dinagat Island was also given to Congressman Ecleo and another P1-M for Governor Arlene ‘Kaka’ Bag-ao that was personally received by provincial administrator Dr. Aimee Jimeno.

The BBM- Sara tandem visited next the Puerto Princesa, Palawan and were welcomed by Governor Jose Alvarez and seven mayors of the province. Bongbong and Sara were also given a disaster situational report by Gov. Alvarez.

Governor Alvarez received P3-M financial aid from the UniTeam as well as 3,000 sacks of rice and thousands of slippers that will be given to the affected families.

The duo then proceeded to visit the municipalities of Liloan and Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu.

The municipality of Liloan under Mayor Cristina Frasco received financial assistance of P1-M including 3,000 sacks of rice and more than a thousand of slippers from the BBM-Sara UniTeam.

Meanwhile, Lapu-Lapu City received 2,000 sacks of rice, and a set of Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration with a pressure supply unit that they can use for them to have clean drinking water.

Lapu-Lapu lone district Congressman Paz Radaza also received P1-M financial aid for her constituents.

As BBM- Sara UniTeam continues to extend more aid by January, Bongbong will also look into the possibility of providing maintenance medicine for the senior citizens in affected areas as he starts to seek help from his friends in the private sector.

“There is one item, hindi ko alam kung may problema kayong ganito dito pero yung sa iba ang nagiging problema yung sa gamot para sa yung mga maintenance na walang makapasok lalo na yung mga senior (citizens) but seriously when I get back to Manila magtatawag na ako at maghahanap na kami, Mercury Drug, Unilab, kung anong makuha natin isusunod natin,” he said.

Bongbong clarified that the help being extended by the BBM- Sara UniTeam is an additional support they provide to the areas and provinces that have yet to receive assistance from the government.

Bongbong and Sara delivered a message of hope to all the victims to remain steadfast and work together in unity to overcome the difficulties brought by typhoon Odette.

“We always pray na makabangon kayo kaagad sa naging devastation ng typhoon Odette and we wish you a blessed celebration of the incoming new year,” Sara said.

“Malakas masyado itong (bagyong) Odette, marami talagang nasira.

Alvarez  kina Bongbong at Sara.

Alvarez at pitong iba pang mayors.

“We always pray na makabangon kayo kaagad sa naging devastation ng typhoon Odette and we wish you a blessed celebration of the incoming new year,” sabi ni Sara.

“Malakas masyado itong (bagyong) Odette, marami talagang nasira.
